Beginner golf lessons
Never picked up a club before? This is where to start. Beginner lessons are designed to replace the “I have no idea what I’m doing” feeling with a calm, clear first step you can actually enjoy.
What happens in your first lesson
A quick chat before you start
Ronnie will ask what brings you to golf, whether you have ever played before, and if there is anything you are worried about. That helps set the pace properly.
The basics that actually matter
Grip, posture and a simple swing feel are explained in plain English, with time to try things without feeling rushed.
A few shots at your pace
The goal is not perfection. The goal is to get comfortable, understand what you are trying to do, and leave with a small early win.
A simple next step afterwards
You will leave with one clear priority, a couple of simple drills, and a better idea of what to do next.

The practical bits
If you have clubs, bring them. If you do not, you can still start and Ronnie will explain what is worth buying first and what can wait.
Comfortable clothes and sensible shoes are enough for a first lesson. You do not need to turn up looking like an experienced golfer.
At a pace that suits you. If you need a break, more explanation, or a gentler start, Ronnie will work around that.
How progress usually works
Most beginners do best with a comfortable first lesson, a short period of practice, then a follow-up session to settle the basics. The aim is steady confidence, not rushing ahead.
- Start with a simple first session
- Build a couple of repeatable fundamentals
- Add short game and course confidence as you go
If you are nervous, that is normal
- You will not be judged for being new
- You can take breaks whenever you need
- You do not need to know the rules before you start
- You can begin at any age
Before you ask
Beginner questions, answered
These are the questions beginners ask most often, especially when they are worried about not knowing what to do or turning up without the "right" experience.
You do not need to be "sporty" to start golf.
If you want a calm, local introduction at Ravenspark, send a message and Ronnie will recommend a sensible starting point.
